Private pool villas perched above the Gulf of Thailand, emerald lagoons by speedboat, and toes-in-the-sand dining under the stars. Two nights of island luxury.
All-pool-villa resort on Lamai Bay. Stunning hilltop setting, private infinity pools, award-winning spa with rainforest hydrotherapy. More secluded vibe.
Wellness-forward luxury on a headland between two bays. Sustainability focus, world-class spa, panoramic ocean views from every villa.
Bangkok Airways BKK → USM, approximately 1 hour. Multiple daily departures. Lounge access at BKK included with all tickets. Book early — sole operator means limited seats in peak season.
One of the world’s most charming airports — open-air pavilions, lush gardens, golf-cart transfers to your gate. No jet bridges, no stress. Four Seasons car will be waiting at arrivals.
Four Seasons arranges private transfers and shuttle service. The island ring road takes about 1 hour to circumnavigate. Songthaews (red trucks) available but hotel car is easiest for this trip.
Morning flight on Bangkok Airways from Suvarnabhumi (BKK) to Samui (USM) — approximately one hour. Enjoy the complimentary Bangkok Airways lounge before departure. Upon landing at the open-air Samui airport, your Four Seasons driver will be waiting.
Arrive at Four Seasons Koh Samui and be escorted to your private pool villa by golf cart through fragrant tropical gardens. Take your time exploring — your villa has its own plunge pool, outdoor sala, and sweeping views of the Gulf. Refreshing welcome drinks and cold towels on arrival.
No agenda. This is your island now. Float in your private plunge pool, wander down to one of the resort’s two pristine beaches, or find a hammock in the shade. Let the rhythm of the waves set the pace for the rest of the day.
The resort has two beaches — the main Laem Yai beach (calm, swimmable year-round) and a smaller private cove. The infinity pool overlooking the Gulf is stunning at any hour. Your villa pool is entirely private.
Toes in the sand, lanterns flickering, the Gulf stretching out before you. KOH is the resort’s signature beachfront restaurant serving refined southern Thai cuisine. Fresh catches from local fishermen, coconut-based curries, and herbs from the resort’s own garden.
Ask for a table right at the water’s edge. The sunset timing in July is around 6:45 PM — perfect for an aperitif before dinner. Try the whole grilled fish with chili-lime sauce and the green mango salad.
Begin the day with the Four Seasons signature couples treatment at the Secret Garden Spa — a cluster of treatment salas hidden among coconut palms and lotus ponds. Pure indulgence on Pam’s birthday trip.
The signature “Samui Bliss” couples ritual includes a coconut oil body scrub, warm herbal compress massage, and a flower bath in an open-air pavilion. Allow 2–2.5 hours. Book well in advance — this is their most popular treatment.
Post-spa bliss. Return to your villa or the main beach. Light lunch at Pla Pla — Mediterranean-style seafood right on the water. Grilled prawns, fresh salads, and a chilled glass of rosé.
The crown jewel of the day. Board a private speedboat for the half-day excursion to Ang Thong National Marine Park — a dramatic archipelago of 42 limestone islands with emerald lagoons, hidden caves, and pristine beaches.
Highlights include the Emerald Lake (Thale Nai) — a saltwater lagoon inside a volcanic island, accessible by a short hike. Kayak through sea caves, snorkel over coral gardens, and feel the scale of these towering karsts rising from turquoise water. Private speedboat recommended over group tours for comfort and flexibility.
Wind down the day with a stroll through Bophut’s Fisherman’s Village — a charming strip of converted Chinese shophouses now home to boutiques, galleries, and some of the island’s best casual dining. Browse hand-crafted jewelry and silk, then settle into a waterfront table for fresh seafood.
Choose from the catch of the day displayed on ice at the front of each restaurant. Grilled whole snapper, tom yum with local prawns, papaya salad. The atmosphere is relaxed and local — a perfect contrast to the resort luxury. Live music on many nights.
The Four Seasons’ home beach. Calm, sheltered, swimmable year-round. Fewer crowds than Chaweng or Lamai. Soft white sand with a gentle slope — ideal for wading and swimming.
42 limestone islands rising from emerald waters. The Emerald Lake, sea caves, and pristine coral reefs make this one of Thailand’s most spectacular natural wonders. About 45 minutes by speedboat.
Two tiny islands just 15 minutes south. Crystal-clear snorkeling, deserted beaches, and Koh Madsum’s famous “pig beach” where friendly pigs roam the sand. The ultimate backup if Ang Thong is closed.
Samui was once known as “Coconut Island” — the entire interior is blanketed with palm plantations. The Four Seasons grounds feel like a private botanical garden.
Four Seasons’ signature spa hidden among lotus ponds and coconut palms. Treatment salas are open-air pavilions — you hear birdsong and rustling palms during your massage. The couples “Samui Bliss” ritual is a must.
Complimentary daily yoga sessions at the oceanview pavilion. Private sessions can also be arranged. The sunrise class with Gulf views is transformative.
Prefer not to leave your villa? Many treatments can be performed on your private terrace or in your sala, with the plunge pool steps away for cool dips between sessions.
July is Samui’s “green season” — expect warm temperatures (28–32°C), occasional tropical showers (usually brief afternoon bursts), and lush green landscapes. Lower crowds and better rates than peak season. Sunscreen is essential.
Thai Baht (THB). The resort charges in THB. Tipping is appreciated: 100–200 THB for spa therapists, 50–100 THB for porters. Credit cards accepted everywhere at the resort and most Fisherman’s Village shops.
Resort casual throughout. Swimwear, light linens, coverups, reef-safe sunscreen, water shoes for kayaking/snorkeling. A light rain jacket for boat excursions. No formal wear needed.
Four Seasons has excellent Wi-Fi throughout the resort and in villas. Your Thai SIM from Bangkok will work perfectly. The island has strong 4G/5G coverage.
Koh Samui is very safe. The main precautions: strong sun (SPF 50+), jellyfish occasionally in July (hotel monitors conditions), and mosquitoes at dusk (resort provides repellent). No special vaccinations required beyond standard Thailand recommendations.
Reserve the couples spa treatment and the Ang Thong Marine Park speedboat at least 2 weeks in advance. Both are popular even in green season. The Four Seasons concierge will handle all arrangements.
